Rebrand JGK. Work in progress.

While branding can take on different forms for different businesses, I’m excited to be working on a full rebrand for the Japanese Gallery Kensington. The gallery was established as far back as 1977 and requires careful attention where both digital and print assets are concerned. I will be showcasing the finished products here as they become available.

The iconic origami crane, as well as the font used for the business name were preserved and streamlined. Together with the gallery team, we picked a Pantone colour to represent JGK.

#bilingual

On the Japanese version of the personal business card, the crane icon of the vertical logo was mostly replaced by a QR code linking to the business’ website. While not that widely used in Europe, yet, integrating QR codes instead of links is quite common in Japan.

Employee business cards in Japanese.
Colleagues who frequently travel to Japan, needed to have certain parts, such as the name and business hours of their personal cards translated. It was a pleasure to be able to put my language skills to use.

While the back of the personal business card is, at first glance, the same as the general business card, we decided to give it a glossy spot UV coating for extra impact.
